Valley Christian alumna Skylar Cavanaugh ’15 is in her senior year at the Naval Academy. In addition to her preparations for her commissioning and transition into active duty, Skylar is a member of the Cheer Squad at Navy. On her Senior Night when Navy football faced Tulsa at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in Annapolis, Maryland, the pregame festivities included a flyover during the national anthem.
In a great example of how Valley makes the world a little smaller, the pilot of one of the Super Hornets was alumnus Stephen Sasso ’09. Stephen is a Lieutenant in the Navy and part of the VFA-213 Blacklions.
The pair were then able to connect on the field during the game and share the moment with their Valley family.
Both Skylar and Stephen make us incredibly proud and we wish them both the best in their Naval careers and thank them for sharing this amazing Valley Christian moment with us!
