Valley Worship
Ministry Development
(7th-8th Grade)
(Full week) The Ministry Development class is a by application only class that is designed to allow students to play a significant role in the weekly chapels. This class is “hands-on,” meaning every student will play a significant role in the creation and implementation of our weekly chapels. In addition, students will discover through coursework God’s thoughts on topics such as: servant leadership, worship, spiritual gifts, attributes of God, and the body of Christ.
There are two “groups” within Min. Dev.
Valley Worship Jr.
VW Jr. exists to help lead staff and students in a meaningful time of praise and worship. Students involved in VW Jr. will plan, rehearse, and lead worship during chapel each week. Vocalists, instrumentalists, and sound techs will prepare each week with their VW Jr. instructor.
Dream Team
From brainstorming and vision casting to set-up and tear-down every student’s gifts/talents will be called upon to ensure a successful chapel experience at VCJH. Students will have time to create, design, rehearse, plan, and execute as it relates to chapel.
Valley Worship
(9th-12th Grade)
This class will primarily focus on preparing weekly chapels. Students will be involved in preparing worship, technical elements including slides, and other elements to help create a welcoming and fun chapel environment. Students will be split into teams based on areas of interest and prior experience.
The Worship Team will lead the music for chapels. This team is geared towards students who already have prior experience and basic knowledge of singing or moderate experience in an instrument.
The Dream Team will help to create a fun and welcoming environment for chapel. They will prepare fun questions or games to start chapel with, song introductions, and greet students as they come to chapel.
On their assigned chapel dates, students will need to report to the Music Hall at 6:30 AM for setup and rehearsal. There may be additional before or after school practices in preparation for various performances.
