K-4 Fine Arts
K-4 Art
Elementary Art for grades K–4 gives students opportunities to explore creativity through drawing, painting, sculpture, and other hands-on art experiences. Students learn foundational art skills, discover a variety of artists and cultures, and build confidence in expressing their ideas.
Through the creative process, students are encouraged to appreciate the beauty of God’s creation, think creatively, and recognize their unique gifts as young artists.
K-4 Music
The first quarter of K-4 music classes will focus on developing the musicianship skills of in-tune singing, accurately reading and performing notes and rhythms, and correct instrument playing techniques. Second quarter will focus on theater and vocal skills as we prepare and present our Christmas musical.
During quarters three and four, students will continue to develop their musical skills as described in quarter one, culminating in a spring performance that gives each grade level the opportunity to share their musical accomplishments. Both the Christmas program and the spring “informance” recital program will be opportunities for K-4 students to share the gospel as well as their musical accomplishments!
