Fine Arts
Welcome to the Fine Arts at Valley Christian Schools (VCS)!
We pray you will sense the Holy Spirit even as you read through the information below.
Our Fine Arts program exists for the sole purpose of raising up the next generation of Christian artists. We strive to partner with students to develop the gifts and talents God has given each person to worship Him and to be a joy to our community. We do not strive for perfection; rather, we strive to be a little better each and every day. We encourage students to take calculated risks for the goal of growth. We encourage each student to develop their skills to be on par with their God-given talent. No matter the age or artistic gift of a student, we look forward to coaching, connecting, and equipping each artist for God’s glory in a joyful, safe, and Christ-centered environment.

5-8 Fine Arts Experience
5th-6th Grade Experience
Our 5th-6th students will be enrolled in Music Appreciation and a Visual Art course. Students will then have opportunity to select an elective fine arts course of their choosing to supplement their Music Appreciation and Visual Art courses to take those subject matters to the next level. Students will select from: Music Appreciation (Choir included in this course), Theatre, and Visual Arts.
Before School, 5th-6th students can elect to participate in our Beginning or Intermediate Band Courses:
Beginning Band: In this class, 5th-6th grade students will be assigned a beginning band instrument. Instrument selection will be overseen by the instructor with effort to create a cohesive and balanced ensemble sound. Students will develop music literacy skills during class as well as perform on their instruments at required concerts outside of school hours. Musical styles will range from Christian hymns, patriotic music, and traditional band repertoire. This course is graded primarily on participation and readiness for performances. Families are responsible for supplying their students’ instruments. There will be additional before or after school rehearsals the week of the Christmas and Spring programs.
Intermediate Band: This 5th-6th grade course is designed for intermediate band students to improve student skills and perform in a group. Instruments include flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, percussion, violin, and cello. Students must provide their own instrument. Percussionists are required to learn both bells and snare drum. Students are required to participate in the following performances: Veterans Day Assembly, Christmas, Engage Mini Tour on Campus, and Spring Concerts.
7th-8th Grade Experience
Our 7th-8th grade students have the opportunity to experience the fine arts by selecting the fine arts elective of their choice from our 5 pillar areas: Visual Art, Choir, Instrumental, Theatre, Worship Team.

Impact Fund: Valley Impact Center
For countless years, Valley Christian has been dreaming of a dedicated place to serve as a worship center, assembly area, dedicated chapel space, and a place for K-12 performances, with a special focus on the spiritual development of our students.
We are beyond excited to share the bold new plan that seeks to make this dream a reality. Over the years, we’ve referred to a worship arts center, a performance center, or a “PAC”. Now, to demonstrate how this facility will help us to accomplish our daily mission, we are calling this facility the Valley Impact Center.
The Valley Impact Center (VIC) is a part of Phase II of the Impact Fund as part of our Expansion for The Kingdom priority. For updates and to support please visit our Impact Fund page.
