Fine Arts Auditions

Interested in auditioning for one of our performance groups for 2020-21?

You can view application instructions and information for each of the auditioned performance groups below.

Chorale

  1. Learn this song (from page 12 to the end) and choreography and submit a video by May 15.

  2. Upload a video of yourself performing the song and choreography via this link by May 15: Chorale Audition Videos 2020
  3. If you receive a callback, you will be sent an email and asked to signup for an interview and sight reading via a Zoom meeting with Mrs. Heim and Mrs. Banta.
Theatre Productions
  1. Answer questions using this link by July 18.
  2. Learn the attached monologue and submit a video by July 18.
  3. Email a video of your monologue to Ms. Tompkins. (Upload instructions are in the attached document)
  4. If you receive a callback, you will be invited to a zoom interview with Ms. Tompkins.
Valley Worship

  1. Fill out the Interview Form and email back to Mr. Popa
  2. After completing and sending back the Interview Form, Mr. Popa will send the audition track for you to play or sing with.
  3. Play the track in a device with headphones connected and then record off of another device of you playing or singing the entire song. When completed, you should only email the recorded video with you playing or singing.
  4. After reviewing the video, you will receive an email with whether or not you will continue on to the next stage.
  5. If you continue to the next stage, a virtual meeting will be set with Mr. Popa and you.
  6. Please keep in mind that even though it’s a video submission, remember we are looking for passion and worship presence as well.

What we are looking for:

  • Instrumentalist musicality & staying on time with the tracks
  • Vocal tones, pitch, harmonies and blending
  • Music & lyrics memorization
  • Stage presence
  • Energy, worshiper, and having a blast!
Jazz Ensemble

For students interested in auditioning for Jazz Ensemble who are not currently members:

  1. Fill out the Application to Audition for Jazz Ensemble.
  2. Go to the Jazz Audition 2020/2021 folder and read the directions document carefully
  3. Download the appropriate sheet music
  4. Practice with the click/piano track in the folder
  5. Follow the directions to record your audition video and submit it via FlipGrid.
  6. Watch your email for your Zoom interview appointment with Ms. Freeman.

Audition information, letter of intent, and performance video expectations for current Valley Rhythmic and Jazz Ensemble members will be communicated through their Moodle class.

Valley Rhythmics

For students interested in auditioning for Valley Rhythmics who are not currently members:

  1. Fill out the Application to Audition for Valley Rhythmics.
  2. Go to the Valley Rhythmics Audition 2020/2021 folder and read the directions document carefully.
  3. Download the sheet music and learn the part using the KEY
  4. Practice with the VR audition track video linked in the directions document.
  5. Follow the directions to record your audition video and submit it via FlipGrid.
  6. Watch your email for your Zoom interview appointment with Ms. Freeman.

Audition information, letter of intent, and performance video expectations for current Valley Rhythmic and Jazz Ensemble members will be communicated through their Moodle class.

JH Bella Voce

For students interested in auditioning for Bella Voce:

  1. Learn this song and choreography and submit a video by May 19.
    Thanks to Beka Loechelt for recording our choreography!
  2. Record a video of yourself performing the song and choreography. Save to an online platform (like OneDrive or Google Drive), create a link, then send that link in an email to Mrs. McKean by May 19.
  3. In your email, be sure to introduce yourself with your first and last name, and current grade level.
  4. If selected for the ensemble, you can expect to receive a congratulatory email from Mrs. McKean and will be enrolled in the class for the Fall.
