Ms. Dykstra and her husband Randy are the proud parents of Valley Christian Alumni Nathan (2019) and Abbie (2021).
More About Me
Ms. Dykstra is the Secretary of the Board and has served since 2019. Ms. Dykstra also serves as the Chair of the Governance Committee and participated on the Building Committee. In addition to her service to VCS, Ms. Dykstra serves as the Chair of the Chandler Parks and Recreation Board and volunteers as a home delivered meal driver for the local non-profit AZCEND. Prior to her service at Valley, Melanie was the Chandler Christian Academy (CCA) Parent Teacher Fellowship President for 6 years and a CCA Board member for 9 years. Melanie graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a Bachelor of Science in Zoology and also has a Master’s of Science in Recreation Administration from Arizona State University. Melanie is currently employed by the Town of Gilbert as the Volunteer and Community Resources Manager overseeing federal funds, non-profits and volunteer engagement and serves as the staff liaison to the Community Engagement Task Force.
