Biography
A native of Oceanside, California, Kelly traded in the beach for the mountains to attend Colorado Christian University in Lakewood, CO. There she balanced her time as a four-year starter on CCU’s NCAA DII volleyball team with her pursuit of a degree in Secondary Science Education. Upon completion of her degree in May of 2011, Kelly was hired on at CCU as a Graduate Assistant. During this program she gained invaluable experience working in the Student Activities, Athletics, and Admissions Departments, where she developed her passion for student development, student leadership, coaching, teaching, event planning, and discipleship. Shortly after completing this program, Kelly moved to Chandler to begin her teaching career at Valley Christian in the Fall of 2013. She immediately fell in love with the culture at Valley Christian and was named the teacher “Most Likely to Bleed Valley Blue” in her first year. She finds tremendous joy in supporting students inside and outside the classroom.
Kelly completed her MBA in the fall of 2014 and is excited to apply everything she’s learned to a career in Christian Education. She returned to Valley after serving for a year as the Director of Community Life at a Classical Christian School in Rancho Santa Fe, California. At Valley Christian Kelly has taught courses in math, science, business, and technology, has worked in IT, and is now excited to serve in the new role of the Dean of Student Activities, where she will continue supporting VCHS students outside of the classroom through leadership training and development and planning events, dances, activities, camps, and retreats.
Any time she’s not at school Kelly can be found playing volleyball, attending sporting events or musicals, exploring new restaurants and hiking trails, planning her next travel adventure, or daydreaming about the next Trojan Tournament!
