We are excited to announce the hiring of our Junior High Principal for the 2018-19 school year as we expand to include grades 6-8!
Chris Fryar comes to Arizona from Brasilia International School in Brasilia, Brazil where he has been serving as the Head of School. He has served in various leadership positions at the school since February 2007. Prior to his work at BIS, he worked for the Network of International Christian Schools.
Valley Christian Administrator Dan Kuiper has this to say about Chris’ hire, “I am so pleased that Chris is going to be part of our team. He has successfully demonstrated his ability to start a school and grow it to a place of excellence. We are confident he has the ability and talents to create the culture and excellence we strive for at the Junior High.”
Chris earned his Master’s – Educational Specialist from Union University and a Master’s in Christian Education from Liberty University.
Thanks to technology, Chris will immediately begin remotely working with our administrative team. He will take the leadership role, including hiring the faculty, finalizing the curriculum, and the additional logistics unique to a school.

Message from Chris Fryar to VCS families
Dear Families,
I am humbled and honored to be given the opportunity to join the Valley Christian family. It was very clear from the first moment of my initial visit that the Lord has and continues to do a mighty work through this amazing ministry. I am beyond excited to not only join the team but also partner with families and students to embark upon the grand opening of our very first (drum-roll, please) JUNIOR HIGH for the 2018-2019 school year!
I truly feel the Lord calls each of us to various ministries and opportunities throughout our lives having served in international Christian education over the last decade. As our family (known as The Fryar Five) embarks on a new season, there is no doubt the Lord has called us to join the VCS community and for me to serve as your Junior High Principal. I firmly believe this new extension of Valley Christian will both educate and minister to kids at such an important time in their young lives while preparing them for the high school transition. I look forward to traveling this journey with everyone while taking every opportunity to share the Gospel and love of Christ. What a great privilege and blessing to do this in such a unique and special setting of which the junior high will undoubtedly offer to both our community and beyond.
I am excited, along with our amazing team, to prayerfully set forth the foundational blocks of the junior high in a way that would honor the Lord. My heart is for the humble beginnings of our new campus to intentionally be a place where students and families are welcomed, known, and valued. My passion is for no student to ever feel as if they are merely a name on a class list as each are unique and created by God for an amazing purpose. I look forward to educating, leading, discipling, and living life with our students each day while they grow and strengthen in their relationship with Christ. I intentionally want to know our students, make them feel a part of a family and provide for them a safe place to belong. All of these commitments transcend to the families of our students and beyond so that big school opportunities in a small school environment remains while at the same time the glory of God is ultimately realized.
