As Valley Christian volleyball enters the postseason, they do so with momentum on their side. The Trojans have won five of their final six regular season matches to earn the #8 seed in the D-III tournament. VCHS will face #25 Estrella Foothills on Thursday, November 5 at 3:00pm in Prescott Valley.
The Trojans sent off their lone senior, Kinsley England, on a high note at Senior Night last week. VC defeated #6 Florence, 3-0 (25-22; 25-20; 25-22). AZPreps365 writer Les Willsey commented on the match, “Valley Christian came at Florence from all angles offensively.” Willsey noted in particular the offensive options VCHS possesses with sophomore Courtney Dyer (17 kills in the match), sophomore CiCi Collins (10 kills) and sophomore Alyssa Wissinger (7 kills).
Valley Christian finished the year with a 22-10 overall record. The Trojans finished third in D-III’s toughest section with an 8-2 section record. Having to adjust during the year due to injuries, the Trojans hope to be healthy just in time for when it matters.
With an opening round win on Thursday, Valley Christian would face the winner of #9 Verrado/#24 Window Rock on Friday, November 6 at 12:00pm. All of the D-III state tournament matches are played at the Prescott Valley Events Center.
