Valley Christian is proud to have one current student and two alumni who have received nominations for the 2017 AriZoni Awards.
Senior Lina Cappellano ’18 was nominated twice for Best Actress in a Supporting Role for a Youth Musical. Lina received nominations for her performance in Cats and Sister Act, both at Limelight Performing Arts.
Dallas Nichols ’04, an award winner from 2016, received three nominations for Best Lighting Design. Dallas was nominated for his designs in Hir, John, and Native Son at the Stray Cat Theatre.
Heidi Johnson ’13 was nominated for Best Actress in a Supporting Role for a Musical for her performance in Thoroughly Modern Millie at the Hale Centre Theatre.
Valley Christian Fine Arts Director Marianne Heim ‘97 commented on the trio’s nominations, saying: “We are so proud of Lina, Heidi, and Dallas. We love that they are living out our school’s mission of being excellent in the areas God has called them to and making a difference in the world!”
The awards recognize the highly skilled work of actors and actresses, producers, directors, and designers. The awards seek to promote the visibility, cooperation and growth of theatres in the Valley and are dedicated to recognizing excellence in theatrical performances, as well as individuals who produce exceptional work in all aspects of theatre
