Scott Timmer grew up in Grand Rapids, Michigan, where he was blessed with a strong Christian upbringing through his church and Christian school education. Those formative experiences instilled in him a lifelong commitment to faith, service, and Christian education.

He graduated from Calvin University with a Bachelor of Arts in Teaching, with an emphasis in Physical Education and a minor in Social Studies. Scott earned his Masters degree from the University of Phoenix. Scott began his teaching career at Phoenix Christian Grade School, where he taught for six years before joining Valley Christian Schools in the fall of 1997.

Over the past three decades at Valley Christian Schools, Scott has had the privilege of serving in a variety of leadership and teaching roles. His service has included Vice Principal, Chair of the Education Committee, Co-Chair of the school’s first accreditation process, Coach, and teacher of Physical Education, Health, and Weight Training. He currently serves as the Assistant Capital Campaign Director, where he continues to invest in the mission and future of Valley Christian Schools.

Scott and his wife made the intentional decision to invest in Valley Christian Schools by enrolling all four of their children. Today, they are grateful to see the lasting fruit of that investment reflected in their children’s adult lives. Scott considers it a blessing to continue serving a community that has played such a significant role in both his family’s journey and the lives of countless students.

When he has free time, Scott enjoys hiking, golfing, and fishing. Above all, however, his favorite role is being “Grandpa” to six wonderful grandchildren, who bring him immense joy and are one of God’s greatest blessings in his life.
