Biography

As a VCS alum, Marianne passionately serves over 1,000 K-12 Fine Arts students at VCS. She leads the high school choir and worship program, offers private voice lessons, and conducts summer camps. With over 20 years of teaching experience, Marianne has guided her voice students to earn full-ride vocal scholarships and achieve success at the collegiate and professional levels.

Growing up in Northern California, Marianne developed a deep love for Jesus, her family, the arts, the beach, and road trips. She is happily married to her husband, Mike, and they are blessed with a son, Braydan. Together, they adore their puppy, Mugsy.

In addition to her work at VCS, Marianne has served as Adjunct Voice Faculty at Grand Canyon University, Associate Creative Arts Pastor at Crossroads Nazarene Church, Musical Director for Phoenix Youth Theatre, Music and Theatre Director for Crossroads Community School (now Hope Christian Academy), and Soloist with the von Promnitz Royal European Music Tour. Her stage credits include roles in Into the Woods, The Music Man, Oklahoma!, Così fan tutte, Hansel and Gretel, Beggar on Horseback, The Mighty Casey, and Brigadoon.

Marianne is an active member of the American Choral Directors Association, the National Association of Teachers of Singing, and the National Association for Music Education. In 2021, she was honored with the “Red Apple Educator of the Year” award. She holds a subject matter expert teaching certification with the state of Arizona and a lifetime certification with the Association of Christian Schools International.
