Biography
Kristen was born in California, but raised in York, Pennsylvania. She misses the beautiful changing seasons and her grandparents’ farm, but has made Arizona her home. She relocated to Arizona in 1995, upon transferring to Arizona State University. After graduation, Kristen began teaching 3rd grade in the Kyrene School District. Kristen taught 1st grade, 2nd grade, 3rd grade and multi-age in Kyrene for 17 years.
Kristen experienced an answer to years of prayer in the spring of 2014 when she began feeling a pull on her heart to take a teaching position at Chandler Christian Academy. This was her first experience teaching in Christian Education. Mrs. Kirby served as the computer teacher at CCA for five years and taught one year of sixth grade math. During her time at CCA, Kristen helped in a variety of ways from being the Yearbook Coordinator and supporting staff with technology needs to being the Student Council Advisor.
Kristen met her husband when she was 17 and has been married to her husband Glenn for 20 years. They have 3 children: Logan, Ally and Ashlyn.
Some of Kristen’s favorite past-times include reading with a cup of coffee, hiking and enjoying the outdoors, cooking and baking and spending time with her family.
One of Kristen’s favorite bible verses is Ephesians 3:20-21, “Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen
