Biography
Erin grew up in Sioux Center, Iowa, and graduated from Western Christian High School. Erin went on to study at Dordt University where she earned degrees in Elementary Education and Spanish. Erin met her husband Ryan at Dordt University, and they celebrated 25 years of marriage in 2022! God has blessed Ryan & Erin with two children, Elise & William. Elise graduated from Valley Christian in 2022, and Will is a part of the Valley Christian class of 2025!
Erin has been involved in Bible Study Fellowship as a group leader and children’s leader both in the US and in Indonesia. Erin is deeply committed to Christian education, and she has been a faithful supporter of Ryan who has been in Christian school leadership since 2000. Prior to joining the team at Valley Christian in 2022, Erin served in the resource room and the Spanish classroom in Christian schools in Brazil (Pan American Christian Academy), California (Central Valley Christian Schools), and here in Arizona (Phoenix Christian School PreK-8).
Before moving to Arizona in 2018, Erin and family lived for seven years in Chicago, seven years in California and seven years south of the equator (four years in Brazil and three years in Indonesia). Erin has sung on the worship team, played the string bass, taught Sunday School and participated in the life of the church in various ways whether in South America, Asia or here in North America! Erin and Ryan also had the joy of serving as foster parents when they lived in Southern California.
