Biography
Diana grew up in Tempe from the age of 8, so she is not quite a native Arizonan. After graduating from Marcos de Niza High School, she attended Arizona State University and obtained a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Family Studies. She spent several years working for the YMCA and America West Airlines before deciding to follow her dream of becoming a teacher. She returned to school and earned her Teacher Certification from Ottawa University. Upon graduation, the Lord called her to teach at Bethany Christian School, and she taught there for 15 years in grades 6 through 8. She is now thrilled to be a part of the Valley Christian School family!
Diana has been married to her husband Tyler for 22 years and her daughter Catherine is a recent graduate of Valley Christian High School – ’19. They love to play games and spend time with their extended family and friends. Although Diana loves to spend time with others, she strives to strike a balance between her social life and taking time to read a good book at home. She also loves to travel and has a checklist of travel destinations that she plans to work through in the coming years.
Diana feels that God has called her to teach and can’t imagine doing anything else. She also knows that teaching in Christian education is an incredible blessing and a huge responsibility; she looks for opportunities to “point” students towards Jesus on a daily basis. She is passionate about students not only choosing to follow Jesus, but to grow in their relationships with Him as well.
