Biography
April is a native Arizonan, having grown up in the Valley. After high school she moved to sunny San Diego to complete her undergraduate degree at Point Loma Nazarene University. Her and her husband, Scot, returned to the Valley where they grew their family to include two amazing boys, Tyler and Dylan. After leaving her job in the cooperate world to become a stay at home mom, April discovered her love for working with children. She did this for four years, part-time, as a staff member at her church teaching and writing curriculum. Seeing God’s hand at work, April completed her Masters in Education at ASU and started full-time teaching in 2012.
Before coming to Valley Christian, April was at Bethany Christian School. She taught both first and second grade at Bethany and feels blessed beyond measure that she is able to spend her days helping kids grow and learn. Prior to Bethany, April was on staff in children’s ministry at Cornerstone Christian Fellowship, where she and her family still attend.
When she’s not at school, you will find April enjoying a hike with her husband, making dinner and going to the movies with her teenage boys, or reading a good book. She also enjoys playing with her dog Joey and time spent with friends.
