VCS Families,
We wanted to take a moment to update you on our Safe Return to School as we continue to progress through the second semester.
As districts begin to slowly put their students back in the classroom, we want to commend our incredible faculty and staff who have allowed for our students to return and remain in-person this year. By the first weekend of March, all our faculty and staff will have had the opportunity to be fully vaccinated through our partnership with the Phoenix Union, Tempe Union, and Chandler Unified school districts.
We also want to commend our families and students for your diligence with keeping our campuses safe. Our post-Christmas cases were much lower than our post-Thanksgiving cases and we continue to significantly trend down.
As the vaccine becomes more available and numbers continue to decrease, both in our community and across the state, we will be taking measured steps to continue to re-open and return to normal.
We will not be simply flipping the switch, returning to normal, and ignoring the ongoing pandemic. However, we will be looking to increase the traditional opportunities across all our campuses for our community, especially our students, to come together to build and enjoy the community that makes VCS such a special place. These events will still have proper mitigation strategies in place and will continue to prioritize the health of our students and faculty.
