The Exchange Club of Chandler dedicated the Freedom Shrine in the Student Center during a ceremony at lunch on Tuesday, May 1.

The Freedom Shrine was dedicated to Valley Christian and Paul Schanaker for all of his years of educating students through the subject of history.

The Freedom Shrine originated from the freedom train that toured the nation in 1947 carrying an exhibit of historic documents. The documents is a visual proof that the freedom and greatness we enjoy today were not purchased easily and those gifts must be cherished and protected. They also serve as a tool for our faculty and students to further study American history.

The Exchange Club of Chandler’s signature projects in our city include the Field of Hope, Armed Forces Day Tribute, 9/11 Healing Field, and Wreaths across America.

We thank them for their contribution to our school and community and trust the Freedom Shrine will educate and inspire.
