Our fall sports season came to an official close this past weekend at the state championships for cross country and volleyball.
Trojan Volleyball won their first round match vs. #9 Pusch Ridge, 3-0, before dropping three closely contested sets to eventual state runner-up #1 Snowflake in the Quarterfinals.
Seniors Courtney Dyer ’18 and Audrey Brown ’18 each earned 3A Metro Region 1st Team honors. Sydney Herzog ‘18, Makenzi Kerkhoff ‘18, and Abigail Calicchio ’20 were named to the 2nd Team All-Region. Megan Davies ’20 and Julianna Gay ’18 earned honorable mention honors.
Cross Country wrapped up a successful season at the D-IV State Championships on Saturday. The girls team finished in 12th place. Kaitlyn Cochran ’21 finished 14th overall to lead the Trojans. Kirsten Denbleyker ’21 finished 52nd and Anna Gorman ’18 finished 75th.
The boys team finished 19th overall. Geoffrey Grossthal ’19 paced the Trojans with a 34th place finish.
