Trojan cross country finished their 2015 season at the D-IV State Championship Meet at Cave Creek Golf Course.
The girls team finished 18th overall, while the boys team finished 22nd as a team.
Junior Haili Grossthal finished 13th overall with a time of 21:12. Grossthal’s mark was the best time for a girl from Valley Christian at the state meet. Sophomore Anna Gorman finished 50th overall with a time of 22:49. Rounding out the scoring for the Trojans was freshman Brianna Donnelly (25:04), senior Taylor Haagsma (25:41) and sophomore Malory Hanenburg (30:10).
Senior Nic Smith led the Trojans with a time of 18:19 to finish 64th overall. Freshman Geoffrey Grossthal finished just behind Smith with a time of 18:26 and finished 68th overall. Senior Nick Bailey (19:56), sophomore Chris Benninger (20:01) and senior Ricardo Nunez (20:06) rounded out the scoring for the Trojans. Freshman Brock Hand (20:46) and sophomore Noah Denbleyker (21:09) also had the opportunity to run at the state meet and finished just outside of scoring for Valley Christian.
