Mrs. Morgan’s American Sign Language (ASL) class recently traveled to the Chandler Mall as deaf students to experience a small portion of what it is like to be deaf. The students ordered their food at the busiest time of the day in the food court and communicated everything in sign language. They then wrote essays on their experience.

“People would point and stare, but it didn’t bother me because it showed the audience how amazing our Creator is to give someone the idea of making a language for the non-speaking. Our heavenly Father does not make mistakes. All humans are beautiful and blessed by God, just as the surrounding bystanders could detect from our trip.” – Alexa Kowalski

“My day as a deaf person shocked me. I never realized how hard it is to get what you want without speaking. I was treated very differently.” – Chloe Anglin

“Psalm 139:14 is a perfect verse for this particular field trip. Everyone is made fearfully and wonderfully in the image of God.” – Audrey Potts
