Valley Worship
Ministry Development (7-8)
The Ministry Development class is designed to allow students to play a significant role in the weekly chapels. This class is “hands-on,” meaning every student will play a significant role in the creation and implementation of our weekly chapels. In addition, students will discover through coursework God’s thoughts on topics such as: servant leadership, worship, spiritual gifts, attributes of God, and the body of Christ. There are two “groups” within Ministry Development:
Valley Worship (7-8)
Valley Worship (VW) exists to help lead staff and students in a meaningful time of praise and worship. Students involved in VW will plan, rehearse, and lead worship during chapel each week. Vocalists, instrumentalists, and sound techs will prepare each week with their VW instructor.
Dream Team (7-8)
From brainstorming and vision casting, to set-up and tear-down, every student’s gifts and talents will be called upon to ensure a successful chapel experience K-8. Students will have time to create, design, rehearse, plan, and execute as it relates to chapel.
Students interested in Ministry Development should complete the application form.
Valley Worship (9-12)
Valley Worship strives to demonstrate the love of Christ through the expression of congregational worship. Valley Worship partners with students to develop their God-given talents to worship Him with joy and lead others.
Course Objectives
Students involved in Valley Worship must strive for excellence while leading worship as well as in the Valley Christian Schools Community. Students must:
- Have a growing understanding of worship and its deep importance in the Christian faith.
- Exhibit instrumental musicality in the area of worship.
- Perform vocal tones, pitch, and blending, with a focus on harmony.
- Memorize music progressions and lyrics.
- Lead on stage and in their communities.
Valley Worship takes lead in providing a space of worship for students and faculty. As a result, students involved in worship are committed to VCS events such as Chapel and other extracurricular events outside of school hours.
