Alumnus Nick Barker ’05, the 2005 Arizona High School Player of the Year while at Valley Christian, was recently named one of 30 recipients to this year’s National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) 30 Under 30 Program. The program is designed to give participants exposure to the NSCAA membership and the opportunity to take advantage of educational offerings.
Launched in 2013, the NSCAA 30 Under 30 program is a year-long education and mentorship opportunity for a select few up-and-comers who have made soccer coaching their career of choice. Barker, who holds school records in single season goals scored (46) and career goals scored (102), guided Coronado High School to its first Division III Championship in his first year as head coach in 2014.
“Soccer was the tool that helped mold me growing up. It is now my turn to give back to the game that has given me so much.”
