What did you do after Valley? Where did your life take you? 

I graduated from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at ASU in 2005. My wife, Faith, and I live in Atlanta, GA with our dogs Dexter & Lexi, where I am currently a Producer for The Weather Channel. I was nominated for an Emmy as a Television Producer, having also worked for NBC stations in Phoenix and Chicago prior to moving to Atlanta to be closer to Faith’s family. 

Tell us a little about your daily work:
I am a Producer for Live Morning programming at The Weather Channel, writing and piecing together the shows Wake Up with Al and AMHQ with Sam Champion. I enjoy working with television broadcast veterans Al Roker & Sam Champion on a daily basis.

What’s one surprising thing we don’t know about you?
I recently got married this past Valentine’s Day to my wonderful, beautiful wife Faith. Our ceremony was held on the beach on the island of St. John in the US Virgin Islands. Our honeymoon was on St. Thomas. I was also nominated for an Emmy award in 2008 while working for KPNX-TV, the NBC affiliate in Phoenix. I have also received an AP Award for Best Newscast.

While you were at VCHS, which teachers, coaches or classmates had the biggest impact on you?
Mr. Sloterbeek, Mr. Carsten, Mrs. Lynch, and Mr. Eckelberg. 

How do you stay connected with your friends from Valley and VCHS?
I stay connected via Facebook. I only really stay in touch with one of my friends from my graduation year.

What’s one lasting memory you have of VCHS?
Our Senior Class trip to San Diego, and the extremely hot charter bus ride back to Phoenix. The Air Conditioning stopped working on the bus, in the middle of May, through the desert when it was 100+ degrees and even hotter on the bus.

Do you have any advice for current students? 
Never stop chasing your dreams. My senior year I decided I wanted to pursue journalism in college and I never looked back. I am now a successful television producer, working with the best in the business and I love going to work everyday. Choose a career that you will enjoy, not one that makes you the most money (although that is nice also).
