What did you do after Valley? Where did your life take you?

I went to Arizona Christian University to do my undergraduate teaching degree where I also was able to play basketball. It was here at ACU that I met my wife, Linda. As soon as we both graduated we felt like God was calling us to move overseas to use teaching as a platform to serve God and missionary families. For the next 23 years I ended up working in Christian schools in Portugal, Morocco, China, and most recently Taiwan. During that time Linda and I had and raised 4 amazing kids. Two years ago we moved back to the USA and now we continue to serve today by both working full time at Valley Christian Schools. Nothing has changed, our mission is to serve people through working to help provide a Christian education to those who want it here in Arizona.

Tell us a little about your daily work:

Today, my wife is a 5th grade classroom teacher at VCS and I have served on the Tempe Campus as a K-6, PE and Computers teacher. I am currently serving as the VCHS Vice Principal.

What’s one surprising thing we don’t know about you?

There was a time in which we came back to Arizona after living overseas and I actually worked as a Phoenix Police Officer for a while.

While you were at VCS, which teachers, coaches or classmates had the biggest impact on you?

Mr. Barnes was my Bible teacher. From what I can remember, he was a big man with a big heart for his students and people in general.

How do you stay connected with your friends from Valley and with VCS?

I don’t really do social media so over the years, I have not stayed very connected. However, now we work at VCS which keeps us very connected.

What’s one lasting memory you have of VCS?

Playing on the varsity basketball team with a torn ACL.

Do you have any advice for current students?
