Valley Christian alumna Breanna Leslie ’09 competed at the USA Track & Field Outdoor Championships this summer in Sacramento. Against professionals, Olympians and the best our country has to offer, Leslie finished an incredible 8th in the Heptathlon. She finished 4th in the 800 Meter Run with a time of 2:10.
After the championships, Leslie was selected to participate on Team USA at the Thorpe Cup in Marburg, Germany on July 26-27. The Thorpe Cup is an international competition between USA and Germany with teams composed of up to seven men and seven women who compete in the decathlon and heptathlon. At the Thorpe Cup, Leslie set a personal record in the high jump.
The heptathlon consists of the 100m hurdles, high jump, shot put, 200m, long jump, javelin and 800m.
