Ally Cheatham ’11 not only graduated from Baylor University this spring, but capped off her four years with a National Championship as a member of the school’s Acrobatics & Tumbling team.
This was the program’s first-ever NCATA Championship and the school’s fourth team national championship. Baylor defeated defending champion Oregon in the final, 286.690 – 282.870. Baylor finished the season with an undefeated 11-0 record.
Ally told the Baylor Lariat, “Every day in practice it kind of slowly sunk in that we can do this. We can be that team, represent Baylor and get that national championship. Our team has worked so insanely hard. It’s been a blessing to have been undefeated. It’s not all about winning, but it’s such a confidence booster seeing the change from last year to this.”
In addition to being a national champion, Ally was named a First Team All-Big 12 All-Academic team member in 2015.
