An important part of continuing to offer a quality education to our families at VCS is that we are accredited by an outside agency every five years. This accreditation process is directed by the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) and provides dual accreditation with the largest public-school accrediting agency called Cognia (formerly named North Central or AdvancED).
The process is quite extensive and has involved all school personnel from the high school and the junior high in a self-study that began in the spring of 2019. Parent and student input has been gathered by way of surveys, as well. Thank you to all who have contributed in one way or another!
On November 2-4, a team of fellow Christian educators from across the state will visit the junior high and high school campuses to confirm what we have stated in our self-study. They will make recommendations for our school to work on throughout the next five-year accreditation period as part of a continuous improvement cycle.
VCS has successfully maintained its accreditation status since it first applied in 2004. We hope to have the elementary school go through the accreditation process in another year or two so that VCS can be an accredited school system from kindergarten through 12th grade!
