Theme: Our Time – His Hands

The 2016-17 Yearbook cover was produced by Valley Christian junior James Guthrie ’18. The cover conveys the theme, “Our Time – His Hands.”

“We picked this theme because man tends to lose sight of God’s control. All we have – our lives, our material things, our health, and our time – truly belong to God. For this short time at VCHS, we experience joys and trials but we need to remember our time belongs to Him. We should spend our time serving Him, furthering His kingdom, and giving Him all the joy and praise. We are Blessed to have this time.”

Dedication: Al Nelson

On Monday, we revealed this year’s yearbook and announced its dedication to Mr. Nelson. As the Yearbook staff wrote in the dedication, Mr. Nelson exemplifies Micah 6:8, “He has told you, O Man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God.”

Team Yearbook wrote in the dedication:

“Mr. Nelson displays this verse in many aspects of his life. Mr. Nelson puts in countless hours into this school. He has a heart for math, as well as sports. He cares so much for all of his students and all the athletes he coaches. He makes himself available to further help with school work. Mr. Nelson also supports his students in their extra-curricular activities. You can easily find him at any Valley event, because he cares a great amount for this school. God has given Mr. Nelson the gift for math and he does nothing but use this talent. He uses this talent to reveal how amazing God is, as well as bless those around him.”

We are beyond thrilled that Mr. Nelson was able to be back at school for the dedication and is now back in the classroom!
