We are excited to officially announce Kevin Allen as the head coach of the Valley Christian girls basketball program.
Kevin has both high school and collegiate basketball coaching experience, including having served for two seasons as an assistant coach in the Valley Christian girls program. Most recently, Kevin was the boys basketball coach at Skyline Prep.
Valley Christian Athletic Director Greg Haagsma commented, “We are excited not only for what Kevin brings to the table in terms of X’s and O’s when it comes to coaching basketball, but in his ability and passion for developing authentic, Christ-honoring relationships. His desire to develop our student-athletes not just physically in their sport of basketball, but academically and spiritually stood out among our many other coaching candidates.”
Kevin’s collegiate experience includes being an assistant coach for the girls basketball programs at Fergus Falls (MN) Community College and Concordia College (MN). He also served as the girls basketball head coach at Pine Island (MN) High School prior to moving to Arizona.
In addition to his basketball coaching experience, Kevin has previously been the head football coach at both Valley Christian and Scottsdale Christian.
Coach Allen will also be teaching at Valley Christian beginning with the 2017-18 school year, which will allow him to be on campus full-time. Jessica Mueller will be staying on as an assistant coach and now that Kevin is hired, he will begin the process of completing his staff.
Coach Allen and his wife, Kelly, live in Chandler with his son, Cade.
