The 2017 Youth Ambassador Exchange Program will hold an Informational Preview Night on Monday, November 14 from 6:00pm-8:00pm at the Upper Council Chambers (200 W Jefferson St, Phoenix, AZ 85007). Interested students, parents, teachers, and community members are encouraged to attend! During the session, interested applicants will learn about the program, the application process, and even hear directly from program alumni. It is a phenomenal chance to ask questions and gain clarity on the selection expectations. What is the Phoenix Sister Cities Youth Ambassador Exchange Program?
It is an international, award-winning program allowing Phoenix high school sophomores and juniors to act as citizen diplomats to Phoenix’s ten sister cities around the world. As a reciprocal home-hosted summer exchange, it truly allows the Youth Ambassadors the opportunity to not only experience another cultures and lifestyles, it allows their families and local community to contribute as well. How do students apply?
The application is available ONLINE and can be submitted any time before 5pm on Friday, January 13, 2017. It is free to apply and scholarships are available! All students will need a teacher nomination form and MUST be residents of the City of Phoenix, which is determined by their council district: to locate, please visit https://www.phoenix.gov/mayorcouncil/find-my-council-district.
