Two Valley Christian alumni have recently made headlines in collegiate basketball coaching circles.
Marshall Tague ’99 was named the NCCAA Division II Coach of the Year after leading his Lancaster Bible College men’s basketball team to a 22-9 record. Tague became the first coach in the program’s 42 year history to earn national coach of the year honors.
On Monday, Brian “Boomer” Roberts ’04 was named the new head men’s basketball coach at Trinity International University in Chicago. Boomer spent six seasons as an assistant coach at Vanguard University in California. As the top assistant last season, he helped guide Vanguard to the NAIA National Championship. Boomer commented on his new opportunity saying, “I look forward to the challenges that lie ahead of us as a basketball program. We will be committed to diving into the lives of our young men to help mold them into men of character, men who compete at a high level in everything they do, and men who love each other and the Lord.”
Congratulations to two alumni who continue to make us extremely proud.
