Chandler, AZ –

Valley Christian Schools junior Ellie Phillips has been named AZCentral’s Student of the Week, recognizing her outstanding achievements in athletics, leadership, and character.

A standout athlete, Ellie reached a major milestone in January when she scored her 1,000th career point in basketball. Earlier this school year, she also delivered an impressive performance in cross-country, finishing third in the state for Division III.

Beyond athletics, Ellie is a dedicated leader on campus. She serves as a junior class officer and a Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) huddle leader, where she encourages and mentors fellow students. Known for her strong character, work ethic, and positive attitude, Ellie is well-respected by both her peers and VCS staff.

“Ellie is a fun, outgoing girl and a blessing to have at VCS,” a school representative shared. “She leads in all areas of her life and represents our school with excellence.”

Valley Christian Schools is proud to celebrate Ellie’s well-deserved recognition and looks forward to seeing her continued impact in the classroom, on the court, and beyond.
