Chandler, AZ –

Valley Christian Schools is proud to celebrate a significant achievement within our communit, VCS parent and staff spouse, Peter Gentala, has been named the new President of the Center for Arizona Policy (CAP). This achievement is not only a personal milestone for Peter but also a testament to the strong leadership, faith, and commitment to Christian values that define the Valley Christian family.

Peter’s appointment marks an important transition for CAP, a leading organization dedicated to advocating for policies that uphold family values, religious freedom, and educational opportunities in Arizona. Having previously served as CAP’s Legal Counsel from 2004 to 2008, Peter has played a key role in shaping policies that align with biblical principles. His extensive experience in law, government, and advocacy uniquely positions him to lead CAP into its next chapter.

“It is an honor to follow in the footsteps of Cathi Herrod, whose leadership has strengthened CAP’s impact throughout the state,” Peter shared. “My prayer is that CAP continues to be ready and willing to answer the call of the Lord, entrusting all results to His hands and giving Him the glory every step of the way.”

This exciting announcement further highlights Valley Christian Schools’ deep connections to influential Christian organizations in Arizona. CAP joins two other major Christian school-adjacent organizations—Arizona Christian School Tuition Organization (ACSTO) and the Arizona Christian Education Coalition (AZCEC)—in being led by individuals with strong VCS ties. Steve Yarbrough, a VCS founder, leads ACSTO, while longtime Head of School Dan Kuiper oversees AZCEC. Additionally, CAP’s Board President, Greg Fraley, is also a VCS parent, and the lobbyist for AZCEC, Kevin Biesty, is part of our VCS family. It is truly remarkable to see so many leaders within our community making an impact in Arizona and beyond.

As we celebrate Peter’s achievement, we also recognize the broader influence of the Valley Christian community in shaping faith-based education, policy, and advocacy. We are grateful for the ways God is using VCS families and alumni to further His kingdom, and we look forward to seeing Peter’s leadership make a lasting impact at CAP.

Please join us in congratulating Peter Gentala on this well-deserved recognition and in praying for his new role as President of the Center for Arizona Policy.
