What did you do after Valley? Where did your life take you?

After Valley, I went to Arizona State University (Go Devils) and studied Communications with a minor in Marketing. Immediately after graduating, I got into commercial real estate and started working with a great group of guys, who gave me a great introduction to learning the ins and outs of the business. I then went on to residential real estate to give it a go for the next four years. While doing real estate, I decided to apply and enroll in my church’s bible college. It was a year long, deep dive into scripture and personal growth in my relationship with my Heavenly Father. During that year, I truly learned about this relationship I so desperately needed with God in order to play my part in fulfilling all His purposes on the earth. I learned what it looks like to live a life of trust in His perfect plan. After that year was over, I accepted a position at the Catalyst Product Group, which is a family-owned business specializing in liquid organic fertilizers. I worked alongside my best buds, Andy Graham ’09 and Landon Turner ’08, both of which are Valley alums. During the process of working with them for over a year, I got married to the love of my life, Shaina, who I met while in college. After we got married, we got asked to join a team from our church and move to Cambodia to plant a church, and work to combat the human sex trafficking problem in that part of the world! We have since then accepted that offer, and moved there in late August 2019 with a team of nine individuals for the foreseeable future.

Tell us a little about your daily work:

I am currently learning Khmer, the local language of Cambodia. I am in church plant school learning the techniques that will be used while overseas to advance the gospel among the unreached people of Cambodia.

What’s one surprising thing we don’t know about you?

I’m still very close friends with many of my graduating class, and they are friends that will last a lifetime.

While you were at VCS, which teachers, coaches or classmates had the biggest impact on you?

Mrs. Litzenburger, who does not teach anymore, was very impactful during my time at Valley.

How do you stay connected with your friends from Valley and VCS?

My mom actually works there in the front office, and I love staying up to date through her. My buddies and I golf regularly and play basketball as often as possible.

What’s one lasting memory you have of VCS?

I loved my time playing as many sports as possible! I played football, basketball, golf, and swimming while at Valley.

Do you have any advice for current students?

Friends come and go, and so do the years in life, but our Heavenly Father knows you intimately, so give Him everything you have and strive to have a personal relationship with Him. He will never leave you nor forsake you!
