Mesquite jumped out to an early lead and were up 15-11, but it was all Trojans after that.  Led by Ashley Koch’s 15 points and Kaitlyn Bellerson’s 12 points, the Trojans took a 28-25 lead into halftime and held off the Wildcats the rest of the way.  Freshman Anna Gorman sealed the game at the free throw line, shooting 4-4 down the stretch to lock up the 56-49 Valley Christian win.

Eight Trojans scored in the contest.  Megan Timmer had nine points and eight rebounds while Alyssa Braun grabbed 10 boards and Koch tallied eight rebounds.

Following one of the biggest regular season wins in Valley Christian history, seniors Alyssa Braun and Ashley Koch were offered athletic scholarships by Hope International University.

The Trojans are ranked #1 in D-III and are 5-0 on the season heading into the Flagstaff Pepsi Invitational this weekend.
