Valley Christian students at both the junior high and high school campuses participated in packing shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child through Samaritan’s Purse.

Since 1993, Samaritan’s Purse has partnered with local churches around the world to deliver 157 million Operation Christmas Child shoebox gifts to children in need in 160 countries. Each one—packed full of fun toys, school supplies, and hygiene items by a family or individual—is sent with prayer that the child who receives it will experience God’s love through their simple gifts

Valley Christian junior Noelle Vangilder ’20 coordinated the effort between both campuses and delivered 181 boxes to Arizona Community Church to send to the distribution center in Denver. From there, many of the boxes will travel to the Philippines.

The school also hosted a special chapel to launch the project and hosted Gil Moreno, the Southwest Region Director, and Robin Earle, the South Mountain Area Coordinator, as guest speakers.

Thank you to everyone who participated in helping share the gospel with children all over the world through a simple shoebox! We ask that you please continue to pray for the children that will receive these boxes in the coming months.

If anyone is interested in getting more involved or if you want to help Noelle organize this again next year, please let us know.
