Valley Christian has announced Jason Best as the head coach for Trojan boys soccer.

Jason has served as an assistant coach in the Valley Christian soccer program for the past three years. He has assisted both the varsity girls and varsity boys team and was the JV boys head coach in 2016-17. Over that period Jason has also established the offseason conditioning and strength programs for both programs.

Jason has over 15 years of coaching experience at all levels of play, from recreation to club. He founded Paladin Sports Outreach, a local non-profit, in 2008 and was a collegiate two-sport athlete at Moorpark College and Chapman University.

He is currently working on his Corrective Exercise Specialization and Performance Enhancement Specialization certifications and is beginning a master’s program in Exercise Science: Performance Enhancement, Injury Prevention and Sports Psychology at California University of Pennsylvania this fall.

Jason has worked for Major League Baseball since 2006 as a marketing specialist. He and his wife, Cindy, have four children, Aaron (’17), Hannah (’18), Sarah, and Carson.

Coach Best replaces Matt Wiehl, who led the boys program for the past five seasons. Matt will continue to lead the athletic and soccer program at Bethany Christian, one of Valley Christian’s association schools.
