Marguerite is a native Phoenician, born and raised in the Valley. She moved to Los Angeles for a short while during college to attend the University of Southern California, but ended up deciding to return to Phoenix to finish her Bachelor’s degree at Arizona State University. It was her time working in the inner city schools in Los Angeles when she first felt God’s call on her life to pursue a career in teaching. After graduating from ASU, she acquired a Master’s Degree in Secondary Education from Grand Canyon University. After a brief stint teaching English and ESL in the Phoenix Union High School District, she came to Valley Christian to teach English in a Christ-centered environment.

Outside of the classroom, she spends time running, cycling, reading, cooking, watching movies, and spending time with her husband Dr. Brad Larsen (Math). She is grateful to be a Valley Christian employee, where she can deliver a rigorous curriculum to students, help them grow in their faith, and challenge them strive for excellence in all they do.
