Biography
Christine was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and so is an “I bleed black and gold” Steelers fan. She left Pittsburgh to study marine biology in North Carolina, and after graduating, returned home to attend law school. She was recruited by Phoenix law firm Lewis and Roca and made the move to the desert. After enjoying several years as a commercial litigation attorney, she started her family and became a stay at home mother to her son and daughter. She has spent the last nine years teaching language arts to gifted students in the Kyrene school district, and received the Tempe Diablos Excellence in Teaching Award for Teacher Leadership. She especially enjoys using her background in legal writing and oral argument to keep life in the classroom interesting!
Her love of science and art is now reflected in her hobby, taxidermy. She is a state champion bird taxidermist (in both Arizona and Texas), and has served as a board member of the Arizona State Taxidermy Association for several years. She also loves reading, cooking, and fishing, and only watches TV if there’s a Steelers game on.
In addition to teaching Senior English and AP Language and Composition, Christine will be the faculty advisor for Valley Christian’s chapter of the National Honor Society.
