SAFE RETURN TO SCHOOL

7-12 GRADE RETURN MODELS + INTENT

All students will be participating in five (5) days of learning.

All students will submit assignments to Moodle.

Students who are required to temporarily learn online due to our COVID-19 Symptom and Exposure plan may transition back to in-person learning once cleared.

Face-to-Face (In-Person) Learners

  • Follow their regular bell schedule on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.
  • On Wednesdays, they will have an at home workday where they will be expected to log into Moodle and complete assignments that will only be open between 8 AM – 3:30 PM.
  • Face-to-Face Learners will be expected to follow all Moodle due dates.

At-Home (Online) Learners

  • Expected to work during regular school hours; however, only Wednesdays will be in real time with a teacher.
  • Students at home will watch videos posted by teachers the day after the original lesson is presented and will be expected to be one day behind on all assignments.
  • Students working from home will have a 24-hour extension on all Moodle deadlines.
  • On Wednesdays, At-Home learners will follow their class schedule and join each teacher for a check-in via Zoom. This gives At-Home Learners the chance for a face-to-face interaction with their teachers throughout the week.
  • Students can begin the year in-person and still opt-in to our online model at any point.
  • For students who opt-in to our online model, they must remain in that model until at least September 16. At that point, students will have the option to continue online or transition to in-person learning.

Our Faculty

  • High School Faculty will post a video lesson daily by the end of the day
  • The video will either be recorded live or the teacher will produce a 12-15 minute lesson, depending on the content.
  • Lesson videos will be through EdPuzzle and posted to Moodle. At-Home learners will need to watch the video and answer the questions to be considered “present” in class.
  • Teachers will dedicate one prep period each day to answering student questions.
  • Lesson plans and homework due dates will be posted to RenWeb by Monday at 8 AM.
  • Teachers will distribute all notes and course materials through Moodle.
  • Teachers will check Wednesday attendance through a Moodle Assignment only open between 8 AM and 3:30 PM.

Our four day per week in-person with one day at-home schedule is temporary while we upgrade our network infrastructure to support asynchronous learning.
